Nadur Youngsters defeat Victoria Hotspurs to maintain perfect record

Nadur Youngsters defeated champions Victoria Hotspurs 2-1 at the Gozo Stadium to maintain a perfect record in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division with a fourth win in as many matches.

Predrag Djordjevic put the Youngsters ahead on the 27th minute but Henrique Maciel equalised on the half-hour. However Shaun Attard notched the winner on the 70th. In the final stages, Elton da Silva was sent off for the Hotspurs while Shaun Attard was sent off after the final whistle.

On the other hand, Xaghra United registered their first win thanks to an emphatic 5-0 win over Gharb Rangers.

Kennedy Martins Ribeiro put Xaghra ahead after just six minutes and one minutes from the end of the first half, Raffael De Souza Ferreira doubled the score. A brace by Luis de Melo Lima on the 75th and 77th increased the lead further before Joshua Buttigieg added another ten minutes from time.

Meanwhile in the Gozo Football League Second Division, Sannat Lions moved top thanks to a 4-1 win over Munxar Falcons at the Kercem Ajax Stadium on Saturday.

Ebube Ralph Okpokwu opened the score on the 4th minute and Joseph Zammit made it 2-0 on the 12th. Three minutes later, Munxar were back in contention thanks to a goal by Ayesller Carvalho. However Antoine Camilleri converted a penalty on the 24th to put Sannat 3-1 ahead with Ebube Ralph Okpokwu adding another three minutes from time.

In another match, St. Lawrence Spurs came from behind to beat Zebbug Rovers 3-2.

Matthion Formosa put Zebbug ahead on the 15th minute but Matthias Michael Uzor converted a penalty on the 21st to level matters. Zebbug regained the lead thanks to Tiago Barbosa on the 32nd but seven minutes from time, Jason Theuma equalised and two minutes later, Charlon Farrugia notched the winner.
