Floriana regained a four-point lead on top the BOV Premier League table as they defeated Mosta 3-1 at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.
The Greens therefore extended their unbeaten record to nine matches as they registered a fifth consecutive win. Mosta, on the other hand, remain eighth on the 13-point mark, suffering their fourth defeat this season.
Floriana took the lead on the 11th minute thanks to a Kristian Keqi penalty after Kassekar floored Venancio inside the area.
The Greens doubled the score on the 20th minute when a freekick by Diego Venancio hit the crossbar with Vella saving the ball partially but Brandon Paiber’s effort from the left gave the Mosta goalkeeper no chance.
Eight minutes in the second half, Floriana scored the third goal thanks to Brandon Paiber who concluded a good run on the right with an angled shot which beat goalkeeper Andreas Vella.
Mosta pulled one back on the 73rd minute as Nikita Kotlov managed to beat Floriana goalkeeper Ini Etim Akpan with a low powerful shot from the outside the area.
