Zejtun Corinthians moved second in BOV First Division as they defeated Vittoriosa Stars 3-1 in one of the two matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.

The Corinthians took the lead thanks to a goal by Jurgen Suda on the 11th minute. On the 59th, Robeiro Santos do Nascimento doubled the score and Suda added another on the 70th. Ousmane Sidibe scored a consolation goal for Vittoriosa eleven minutes from time.

In another match, Naxxar Lions defeated Mqabba 2-0 thanks to goals by Jurgen Debono on the 42nd and Gilberto Carrara Martins Leite on the 74th.

Lija lead the way with 18 points, followed by Zejtun on 15, Pieta’, Qrendi and St. Andrews on 14, Naxxar 13, Pembroke 10, Qormi 9, St. George’s and Zebbug 8, Swieqi and Mqabba 7, Fgura 6 and Vittoriosa 4.
