San Gwann joined Marsa and Mgarr United on top the BOV Second Division as they came from behind to beat Marsaxlokk 3-1 in one of the two matches in programme at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.

Ryan Micallef put Marsaxlokk ahead on the 13th minute but Luca Mallia equalised on the 24th. A Justin Zammit penalty on the 61st minute gave San Gwann the lead with Andrea Zammit sealing the issue with another goal on the 74th.

In another match, Kalkara United defeated Xghajra Tornados 2-0 courtesy of Mauro Hammett on the 15th and an own goal on the hour.

Marsa, Mgarr and San Gwann lead the way with 19 points, followed by Marsaxlokk on 18, Rabat 15, Kalkara, Melita and Zurrieq 14, Birzebbuga 11, Mellieha 9, Xghajra 8, Zabbar 7, Luqa 5.
