Leaders Marsa extended their unbeaten run on top the BOV Second Division as they defeated Mellieha 3-0 in one of the two matches in programme at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.

Erik Pietribiasi handed Marsa a two-goal lead with goals on the 16th and the 67th with Christian Caruana adding another on the 84th.

Zurrieq returned to winning ways as they defeated Zabbar St. Patrick 3-0.

Zurrieq took the lead thanks to a goal by Ryan Farrugia on the 18th minute and Adrian Caruana doubled the score on the 27th. Ivan Bojovic sealed the issue with a third goal on the 90th.

Marsa lead the way with 25 points, followed by Mgarr and San Gwann on 19, Marsaxlokk and Rabat on 18, Melita and Zurrieq 17, Kalkara 14, Birzebbuga 11, Mellieha 9, Xghajra 8, Zabbar 7, Luqa 5.
