After claiming six points in draws, Mtarfa registered their first win in the BOV Third Division as they defeated Sta. Venera Lightnings 3-1 in one of the two matches in programme at the Sirens Stadium on Saturday.

Johann Zarb put the Lightnings ahead on the 31st minute but Bjorn Chetcuti equalised on the 36th and three minutes later, Isaac Abela made it 2-1. Jean Scholey sealed the issue with a third goal on the 76th.

Dingli Swallows also came from behind to beat Gharghur 4-1.

Allan Fernandes Moreira put Gharghur ahead on the 13th minute but late in the first half, Nikola Tasic levelled matters. Daniel Cilia made it 2-1 nine minutes in the second half and converted a penalty on the 74rd before Kyle Gatt sealed the issue with another goal on the 76th.

Attard lead the way with 22 points, followed by Kirkop on 21, Ghaxaq and Siggiewi 20, Msida 17, Gharghur 16, Dingli 13, Marsaskala 10, Mtarfa 9, Sta. Venera 6, Ta’ Xbiex 4 and Mdina 2.
