Gudja defeat Victoria Hotspurs to secure quarter-final spot

Gudja United made it to the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy after defeating Gozitan side Victoria Hotspurs 3-1 at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday.

Aidan Jake Friggieri opened the score on the 14th minute but six minutes in the second half, Elton Alexandre da Silva levelled matters. Four minutes later, the Hotspurs were reduced to ten men on the 55th after having Henrique Maciel sent off.

Gudja regained the lead on the 68th minute thanks to an Edison Bilbao Zarate penalty and six minutes later, Rundell Winchester made it 3-1.

Imanol Gonzalez was sent off for Gudja ten minutes from time and after the final whistle, El Mehdi Sidqy was sent off for the Hotspurs.
