A goal deep into stoppage time handed San Gwann a narrow win over Rabat Ajax in a match from the BOV Second Division at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.

The Magpies had a penalty by Immy Micallef neutralised by goalkeeper Cain Formosa on the 75th minute but on the 93rd minute, San Gwann notched the winner thanks to substitute Dale Mifsud.

Marsa lead the way with 28 points followed by Mgarr and San Gwann on 26, Marsaxlokk 25, Rabat 24, Melita and Zurrieq 18, Kalkara 17, Birzebbuga and Mellieha 15, Xghajra 9, Zabbar 7 and Luqa 6.
