Marsaxlokk re-joined Marsa on top the BOV Second Division table as they defeated Mellieha 3-1 in one of the three matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. 

Kenneth Aquilina put Marsaxlokk ahead on the 2nd minute, Ryan Micallef doubled the score on the 13th and Ivan Edgardo Paz made it 3-0 on the 16th. Michael Micallef pulled one back back seven minutes from the end of the first half.

Bottom-placed Luqa St. Andrew’s returned to winning ways thanks to a narrow win over Kalkara United courtesy of Lydon Sciberras on the 13th minute.

On the other hand, Birzebbuga St. Peter’s maintained a three-point lead over Xghajra Tornados after the two teams shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Luca Covic put the Saints ahead on the 5th minute but Miguel Scicluna equalised three minutes from the end of the first half.

Marsa and Marsaxlokk lead the way with 37 points, followed by San Gwann on 35, Mgarr and Rabat 31, Zurrieq 28, Melita 25, Kalkara 20, Mellieha 18, Zabbar 17, Birzebbuga 16, Xghajra 13 and Luqa 9.
