San Gwann missed out on the chance to join Swieqi United in second place as they were held by Zebbug Rangers in a 1-1 draw at the Centenary Stadium in one of the four BOV Challenge League matches in programme on Thursday.
Owen Spiteri put San Gwann ahead on the 50th minute but Gaetano Gesualdi equalised thanks to a penalty on the 71st.
A goal by Johan Alberto Castano on the 45th and a brace by Dylan Micallef on the 54th and 89th handed Mqabba a 3-0 win over Qormi at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
At the Centenary Stadium, Pieta’ Hotspurs and Fgura United shared four goals in a 2-2 draw. Diego Segura put the Hotspurs ahead on the 22nd but a brace by Sergio Hili on the 65th and 74th turned the score in Fgura’s favour. However, Segura levelled matters for Pieta’ on the 78th.
A brace by Erikys da Silva Ferreira Silva on the 20th and 73rd handed Naxxar Lions a 2-0 win over Qrendi at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
