Under-19 side loses narrowly to Finland

The Malta Under-19 national team, led by coach Andrea Tedesco, lost 0-1 to Finland in the last match from Group 5 of the UEFA Under-19 Championship qualifying round in Swarzedz.

Casper Terho scored the all-important goal for Finland on the 12th minute. A goal which earned Finland the second place in the group as hosts Poland were held in a 2-2 draw by Ukraine in another match on Tuesday, meaning that Ukraine won the group and Poland had to settle for third place.

Malta finished its commitments without any points after losing the previous two matches – 2-4 to Ukraine and 0-4 to Poland
