Balzan hit six past Sirens

Balzan registered a third win on the trot as they defeated Sirens 6-1 at the National Stadium on Sunday.

A win which puts Balzan in joint-third place with Birkirkara. For Sirens, this was the fourth defeat in five matches and are now seventh.

Balzan took the lead on the 7th minute thanks to Milan Djuric whose shot beat goalkeeper Sean Mintoff.

On the 16th minute, Balzan doubled the score thanks to a diagonal shot from outside the area from the right by Milos Mijic which beat the Sirens goalkeeper.

Balzan scored their third goal on the 33rd minute, in a swift counter attack led by Aleksa Andrejic, the ball reached Uros Ljubomirac who passed the ball to Alex da Paixao who hit low past Mintoff.

Four minutes later, Uros Ljubomirac, served on the right by Andrejic made it 4-0 with an angled shot.

Three minutes from the end of the first half, Alex da Paixao Alves stole the ball off the Sirens defence and served Andrejic who once again passed the ball to Ljubomirac who beat Mintoff.

Twelve minutes from time, Sirens reduced the gap thanks to a penalty by substitute Bogdan Gavrila after Vitor Vieira was brought down inside the area by Paul Fenech.

However substitute Bojan Kaljevic made it 6-1 with a low shot from inside the area.
