Group B leaders Marsaskala dropped their first points in the BOV National Amateur League as they could only rescue a point deep into stoppage time in the clash with bottom-placed Kirkop United on Saturday.
At the Luxol Stadium, Simone Lo Presti put Kirkop ahead on the 22nd minute but five minutes in added time, Adrian Carabott notched the equaliser for Marsaskala.
At the Sirens Stadium, Mtarfa and Sta. Venera Lightnings shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.
Randon Caruana handed Sta. Venera the lead on the 12th minute but Ryan Sciberras equalised on the 32nd. Jean Paul Formosa converted a penalty nine minutes from time to put Mtarfa ahead but two minutes in added time, Ryan Zammit restored equilibrium.
Marsaskala lead the way with 19 points, followed by Zurrieq on 16 points, Mtarfa 13, Zabbar 10, Mdina 9, Mellieha and Qormi 6, Sta. Venera 4 and Kirkop 2.
In Group A, second-half goals handed Attard a 3-0 win over Msida St. Joseph at the Sirens Stadium.
Nicholas Schembri scored twice on the 59th and 76th with Lydon Cuschieri adding another two minutes in added time.
On the other hand, at the Luxol Stadium, goals by Shawn Vella on the 21st and Glenn Brincat on the 86th handed Xghajra Tornados a 2-0 win over Siggiewi.
Gharghur lead the way with 17 points, followed by Attard and Kalkara on 13, Birzebbuga 12, Xghajra 9, Msida 8, Siggiewi 7, Dingli 6, Ta’ Xbiex 5 and Ghaxaq 1. Attard had nine points deducted.
