The National Amateur League 2022/23 kicks-off on Saturday with four matches from Group A. Another match from Group A will be played on Sunday with the matches from Group B scheduled for Sunday and Monday.
This season, the teams were divided in two groups with eleven teams in Group A and ten teams in Group B.
Birzebbuga St. Peter’s, Kalkara United, Mellieha, Mgarr United, Pembroke Athleta, Qormi, Senglea Athletic, Sta. Venera Lightnings, Ta’ Xbiex, Xghajra Tornados and Zabbar St. Patrick will be playing in Group A while Dingli Swallows, Gharghur, Ghaxaq, Kirkop United, Luqa St. Andrew’s, Mdina Knights, Msida St. Joseph, Rabat Ajax, Siggiewi and St. George’s will be playing in Group B.
Mgarr, Senglea, Luqa, Rabat and St. George’s were relegated from the Challenge League while Pembroke were actually promoted from the Challenge League to the Premier League but opted for an amateur license and are therefore playing in the National Amateur League this season.
The group winners will be promoted with a deciding match determining the championship. The runners-up in each group will play a promotion decider with the winner being promoted and the loser entering the National Amateur League Play-Offs together with the teams placing third, fourth and fifth in both groups.
