Four-match ban for Alessandro Coppola

Seven Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches. 

Alessandro Coppola (Birkirkara) was handed a four-match ban while Ivan Bozovic (Balzan), James Arthur and Neil Micallef (Gudja), Luis Riascos (Gzira), Juan Cruz Aguilar (Marsaxlokk) and Randall Vella (Zebbug) were banned for one match.

Coppola will skip the next four matches for Birkirkara against Mosta, Hibs, Gzira and Pieta’. Bozovic will miss the game against Valletta, Gudja could not count on Arthur and Micallef for the game against Pieta’, Aguilar will skip the match against Hibernians, Riascos is ruled out of the game against Hamrun while Vella will miss the game against Floriana.

Birkirkara coach Giovanni Tedesco and Mosta goalkeepers coach Mark Vella were suspended for one match while Birkirkara president Michael Valenzia and Marsaxlokk physical trainer Andes Quiroga were suspended for two matches. 

In the Challenge League, Steven Schembri (Marsa) and Owen Magro (Mtarfa) were handed a one-match ban while Lija officials Mauro Delceppo and Larken Micallef and Zejtun assistant coach Noel Azzopardi were banned for two matches.

In the National Amateur League, Julian Camilleri and John Micallef (Mgarr), Lian Sciberras (Ghaxaq), Kurt Magro (St. George’s) were suspended for one match. Qormi official Lydon Fenech was banned for six matches.
