National Amateur League: Msida, Gharghur move top in Group B as Rabat lose to Kirkop

Msida St. Joseph and Gharghur are the new leaders in Group B of the National Amateur League as they both registered wins on Saturday with Rabat Ajax losing to Kirkop United.

At the Sirens Stadium, Msida defeated Mdina Knights 7-0. Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza put Msida ahead on the 21st and two minutes later, Edward Bugeja doubled the score. Mark Camilleri made it 3-0 on the 28th, adding another one minute in the second half. Giovanni Galea then scored three goals on the 50th, 76th and 90th.

At the Luxol Stadium, a goal by Jayden Aquilina on the 24th minute enabled Gharghur to register a narrow win over Siggiewi.

A direct freekick by Lincoln Micallef on the 67th minute handed Kirkop United a second win on the trot as they defeated Rabat Ajax 1-0 at the Sirens Stadium.

In another match at the Luxol Stadium, Luqa St. Andrew’s defeated Ghaxaq 4-0 thanks to goals by Alan Abdel Rahman on the 3rd and 23rd, Julien Iwueke on the 7th and Andy Camilleri on the 85th.

Msida and Gharghur lead the way with 14 points, followed by Rabat on 13, St. George’s 12, Luqa 11, Kirkop 8, Siggiewi and Ghaxaq 7, Dingli and Mdina 4.
