Yunusa Muritala was the hero for Hibernians as they moved to just one point behind second-placed Gzira United thanks to a 2-1 win over Pieta’ Hotspurs in a rain soaked match at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.
Hibernians took the lead on the 17th minute when off a Jurgen Degabriele freekick, Yunusa Muritala’s fine header beat Pieta’ goalkeeper Dele Alampasu.
Two minutes from the end of the first half, Hibs doubled the score when Jake Grech sent Yunusa Muritala through and the latter hit low past Alampasu.
The heavy rainfall left the pitch water-logged but the referee opted not to interrupt the game and ten minutes from time, Pieta’ pulled one back thanks to substitute Kian Leonardi who received a through ball and slotted the ball past Kone.
