St. George’s entered the Promotion Play-Offs of the Izibet Amateur League as they registered a dramatic 3-1 win over Kirkop United at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday in a decider for fifth place in Group B after both teams ended their commitments on level points.
Morientes Muscat put the Saints ahead on the 65th but five minutes later, Isaac Abela levelled matters. However an own goal two minutes in added time restored the lead for the Cospicua side with Paul Simon Ellul securing victory with a goal two minutes later.
In the first round of the Promotion Play-Offs which will be played on Wednesday 12, St. George’s will face Kalkara United at the Centenary Stadium at 19:30.
Meanwhile in another decider in Group B, Gharghur defeated Rabat Ajax 4-3 on penalties at the Sirens Stadium to secure third place. The score at the end of the ninety minutes and extra-time was still 0-0.
In the first round of the Play-Offs, Rabat will face Xghajra Tornados at the Victor Tedesco Stadium at 20:00.
In the second round of the play-offs, scheduled for Saturday 15, Gharghur take on the winner of the clash between St. George’s and Kalkara while Zabbar St. Patrick face Rabat Ajax or Xghajra. The third round will be played on Wednesday 19.
In the Play-Offs final, the winner of the third round will face the loser of the Promotion Decider between Mgarr United and Luqa St. Andrew’s on Sunday 23.

The Championship Decider between Senglea Athletic and Msida St. Joseph will be played on Sunday 16 at the Centenary Stadium at 11:30 while the Promotion Decider between Mgarr United and Luqa St. Andrew’s is scheduled for Sunday 16 at the Sirens Stadium, kick-off at 15:00.
