Balzan FC’s Angel Yesid Torres Quinones and Hamrun Spartans’ Elvis Mashike have jointly been voted BOV Players of the Month for February 2023.

Torres was the star in Balzan’s 3-1 win over Sirens, scoring his team’s first and third goals and providing the assist to Kaljevic for Balzan’s second. The Colombian winger was also on target in his team’s 3-2 win over Pieta where he picked up the ball, beat a couple of opponents before letting fly a shot that was deflected onto the crossbar and past the goal line.

Mashike was on target twice against Valletta during the month of February. The striker from the Republic of Congo scored the all-important goal in Hamrun’s 1-0 win over Valletta in the BOV Premier League and was also on target in their second victory of the month over Valletta with a score 2-1 in the FA Trophy.

Torres received his trophy from Alan Attard, Manager of Bank of Valletta’s Birkirkara Branch while Silvio Cassar presented the trophy to Mashike. Both players chose Puttinu Cares to benefit from the Bank’s donation associated with this award.
