Malta vs England – Information for ticket holders

The UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier between Malta against England will be played on Friday 16th June at the National Stadium, kick-off at 20:45.

This fixture is taking place at the Ta’ Qali National Stadium. The stadium capacity for this fixture is 16,997. This game will also be broadcasted live by the Official Broadcaster, PBS on TVMSports+.  

All ticket holders are urged to familiarise themselves with the process, rules, and expectations regarding this process below.

Stadium Opening

  • Gates open at 18.00. 
  • A fan zone is being organised by the South End Core at the Ta’ Qali National Park, starting at 17:00hrs. 

Public Transport to and from the stadium

Malta Public Transport will be organising extra trips to and from the stadium before and after the match to enable ticket holders to make their way to the stadium on match day.

Road access to the National Stadium

  • The National Stadium ring road (perimeter) will be closed all day from Friday early morning. The general public is to follow the traffic management plan indicated as well as the direction of the police.
  • Access to Ta’ Qali by car is possible through the following points:
    • Central Link (Attard – Rabat)
    • Triq Durumblat;
    • Attard (Pitkalija side)
  • Blue badge holders may use any parking spaces designated for them depending on availability.
  • The Malta FA will make a number of additional spaces available for those persons making use of a wheelchair who have purchased tickets for the match. Requests to be sent to tickets@mfa.com.mt

Parking

  • Parking will be possible in the car parks open to the general public.  
  • Nursery transport vehicles are to park in a reserved parking area in front of the BOV adventure park.

Important notice to ticket holders

  • The stadium is sold out.  No tickets will be available for purchase on the day from the National Stadium.  
  • Spectators are reminded to ensure that tickets in their possession are purchased from the Malta FA. A number of fake profiles have been noticed purportedly selling tickets on social media platforms. Caution is to be exercised in this regard.
  • All tickets will be scanned upon entry. Once your ticket is scanned that barcode will no longer allow re-entry into the stadium. Anyone caught with a ticket which has already been scanned will be refused entry.
  • Fans are reminded to get to the stadium well in advance of kick-off time. They shall proceed to their respective sector and seat as indicated on their ticket.
  • Only West Stand has seat numbers (Row A is the top most one and the rest follow in alphabetical order).  The rest of the stadium is free seating. Please note that Rows 1-4 may offer reduced visibility.
  • A customer care office is located within the West C ticket booth. This dedicated office serves as a point of contact for any customer inquiries, assistance, or issue resolution before or during the game.
  • For the convenience and security of local spectators, a bag depository can be found in the West C ticket booth. This dedicated facility provides a safe and supervised location where supporters can store their bags or personal belongings during the game.
  • Everyone is encouraged to follow signage and directions given by stewards and match personnel.  
  • Spectators should note that the area in between the North Stand and the Centenary Stadium is out of bounds for local fans and is only accessible to the English Away fans.
  • No alcohol will be sold in the stand allocated to the away fans (North Stand) only.
  • No Supporters wearing away team jerseys (England), or sporting away scarves and/or flags are allowed in the South Stand. 
  • Spectators should ensure that they are familiar with the ground regulations which can be found here

Security Checks

The police will conduct security checks and body searches on spectators outside the turnstiles to ensure that: 

  • Spectators must enter the correct area of the stadium. 
  • Spectators do not bring any objects/substances into the stadium that are likely to be used in acts of violence, or alcohol or fireworks of any kind. 
  • Access is prohibited to persons who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 
  • While spectators are encouraged to wave the Malta flag, any flags or banners may not be permitted if deemed offensive or potentially dangerous.
  • Spectators should ensure that they are familiar with the ground regulations which can be found here

Official matchday programme

  • The Official Matchday Programme can be purchased from the stadium entrances and from the Fan Zone at the Malta National Parks.
