Late Haley Bugeja strike hands Malta winning start in UEFA Women’s Nations League

The Malta Women’s national team defeated Latvia 1-0 in the opening match from Group C1 of the inaugural UEFA Women’s Nations League at the Sloka Stadion in Jurmala, Latvia on Friday. 

Haley Bugeja scored the all-important goal seven minutes from time, beating goalkeeper Vaivode off a cross by Rachel Cuschieri.

Malta will be in action once again on Tuesday, hosting Moldova at the Centenary Stadium.
