Valletta appoint Enzo Potenza as their new coach

Valletta FC have appointed Italian coach Vincenzo Potenza as their new coach. Potenza replaces Thane Micallef whose contract was terminated earlier this week.

Potenza moved to Malta in 2018, leading Senglea Athletic in their Premier League campaign and the following season, moved to Floriana with whom he won the title on his first attempt. However, the following season, he stepped down in December 2020 but was re-appointed as coach two months later. Potenza spent season 2021/22 with Marsa in the Challenge League while last season, he joined Santa Lucia in November, leading them to secure their Premier League status.

Before moving to Malta, he led Puteolana, Arzanese, Albanova and Turris in Italy.

Valletta are currently eighth with five points from four matches following a win over Sirens, a defeat to Sliema and back-to-back draws with Birkirkara and Mosta.
