The BOV Premier League resumes on Saturday with two matches at the Tony Bezzina Stadium and another two at the National Stadium.
In the first match at the National Stadium, Birkirkara take on Mosta.
The Stripes are currently fourth on 7 points, four behind the two joint-leaders. They returned to winning ways in their last outing as they defeated Hibernians 1-0 after collecting four points from the first three matches in a win over Sliema, a defeat to Floriana and a draw with Valletta. Mosta, on the other hand, are fourth from bottom on three points. They are still chasing their first win after draws with Gudja, Sirens and Valletta and a defeat to Sliema.
In the first match at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, Floriana will be hoping to make it five wins in a row as they take on Naxxar Lions.
The Greens defeated Santa Lucia, Birkirkara, Hibernians and Balzan, scoring eleven goals and conceding none. Naxxar, on the other hand, earned four points as following two heavy defeats to Marsaxlokk and Hamrun Spartans, they held Gzira United in a 1-1 draw, before beating Santa Lucia 4-0.
In the second match at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, Santa Lucia chase their first point or points in the game against neighbours Gudja United.
Santa Lucia lost the first four games against Floriana, Hibernians, Balzan and Naxxar Lions but it was the 4-0 defeat to Naxxar which hurt most. They are the only team without any points. Gudja, on the other hand, are third from bottom on two points following draws with Mosta and Marsaxlokk and back-to-back defeats to Hamrun Spartans and Gzira United.
In the second match at the National Stadium, Hamrun Spartans hope to keep the pace with Floriana with another win as they take on Sliema Wanderers.
The Spartans registered wins over Balzna, Naxxar, Gudja and Sirens, scoring twelve and conceding none. Sliema, on the other hand, share fifth place with Hibernians and Balzan on six points thanks to wins over Valletta and Mosta, losing the first game against Birkirkara and their last outing against Marsaxlokk.
