Marsaxlokk will be aiming at obtaining maximum points on Sunday as they take on Valletta in one of the three BOV Premier League matches in programme at the Centenary Stadium and the Tony Bezzina Stadium.
At the Centenary Stadium, a win for Marsaxlokk would enable them to join Hamrun Spartans and Floriana on top.
The Southseasiders won three out of the four matches played against Naxxar, Sirens and Sliema, dropping the only points in a draw with Gudja. Valletta, on the other hand, won just one match against Sirens, earing the other two points in draws with Birkirkara and Mosta.
In the first match at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, Hibernians face Balzan.
Both teams share the sixth place with Mosta on six points. The Paolites won their first two matches against Gzira and Santa Lucia but suffered back-to-back defeats to Floriana and Birkirkara. On the other hand, Balzan lost narrowly to Hamrun and following wins over Gzira and Santa Lucia, they lost 0-3 to Floriana.
In the second match at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, Gzira United take on Sirens.
The Maroons registered their first win in their last outing as they defeated Gudja United 6-1 following defeats to Hibernians and Balzan and a draw with Naxxar. Sirens, on the other hand, earned just one point in a draw with Mosta, losing to Valletta, Marsaxlokk and Hamrun Spartans.
