San Gwann took sole leadership in Group B of the IZIBET Amateur League as they came from behind to beat Qormi 3-1 at the Charles Abela Stadium on Saturday.
Gillmore Azzopardi put Qormi ahead but Nezar Fawzi Abouhaisa levelled matters on the 32nd. Andre Joe Cutajar converted a penalty on the 71st and Shawn Vella sealed the issue with a third goal.
Mgarr United scored another ten goals as they defeated Ta’ Xbiex 10-0 at the Sirens Stadium. Christian Saint Ebisindor opened the score for Mgarr on the 4th minute and a minute later, Gordon Saliba doubled the score. Nicholas Schembri made it 3-0 on the 16th and Christian Saint Ebisindor scored three on the 22nd 23rd and 27th with Nicholas Schembri adding another three minutes from the end of the first half,. Jurgen Suda scored the eighth goal on the 58th with Matthew Attard and Christian Saint Ebisindor adding another two goals on the 67th and 86th.
Goals by Ryan Dalli on the 7th minute and Giovanni Galea on the 80th handed Kirkop United a 2-0 win over Marsaskala at the Sirens Stadium while in another match at the Charles Abela Stadium, goals by Isaac Chircop on the 45th, Erik Pietribiasi on the 49th and a brace by Mihaly Gidaly on the 86th and 90th handed Gharghur a 4-0 win over Ghaxaq.
San Gwann lead the way with 13 points, followed by Mgarr United and Qormi on 10 Marsaskala and St. George’s 9, Kirkop 7, Dingli and Gharghur 4, Ta’ Xbiex 3, Vittoriosa and Ghaxaq 0.
