Hamrun Spartans failed to ensure they retained sole leadership after being held in a 1-1 draw by Mosta in a match from the BOV Premier League at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.
The Spartans maintain their unbeaten record but this was the second draw in seven matches. Mosta, on the other hand, extend their unbeaten run to four matches, following the draw with Valletta and the back-to-back defeats over Birkirkara and Marsaxlokk.
Hamrun had Joseph Mbong sent off on the 22nd minute after passing remarks while he was doing his warm-up.
The Spartans took the lead on the 38th when a corner from the right was not held by goalkeeper David Udoh Akpan and Uros Djuranovic placed the ball at the back of the net.
However two minutes in added time, before the end of the first half, Mosta equalised thanks to a goal by Kevin Tulimieri who slotted the ball past Bonello following an assist from the right by Nathan Agius.
Late in the game, Christian Ndubuisi Nnaji was sent off for Mosta after receiving a second yellow card.
