Balzan returned to winning ways as a brace by Aleksa Andrejic handed them a 2-0 win over Mosta at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Sunday.
A win which puts Balzan six points clear of Gzira, Valletta and Mosta.
Following a goalless first half, Balzan took the lead one minute in the second half with an Aleksa Andrejic overhead kick following an attempt by Aleksandar Katanic.
Five minutes from time, Balzan sealed the issue with a second goal with Andrejic beating Dylan Ciappara with a shot from the edge of the area.
