Vittoriosa Stars extended their positive run in Group B of the IZIBET Amateur League thanks to a 2-0 win over Kirkop United at the Charles Abela Stadium.
Aaron Sammut handed them the lead seven minutes in the second half and Shaban Chikh Ali sealed the issue with a second goal on the 90th.
At the Sirens Stadium, San Gwann came from behind to beat Dingli Swallows 2-1. Mohamed Kara put Dingli ahead on the 9th but Syzmon Grzegorz Plocica equalised on the 72nd and nine minutes from time, Mattia Zarb made it 2-1.
At the Charles Abela Stadium, Marsaskala defeated Ta’ Xbiex 4-1. Isaac Abela opened the score eight minutes from the end of the first half but Nobukatsu Tsuchiya made it 2-0 on the 63rd and Isaac Abela added another on the 81st. Luke Mallia reduced the gap six minutes from time but three minutes in added time, James Oghenekewaro made it 4-1.
Qormi lead the way with 27 points, followed by Mgarr on 25, Marsaskala 24, San Gwann 23, Vittoriosa 22, St. George’s 20, Gharghur and Kirkop 19, Dingli 7, Ghaxaq and Ta’ Xbiex 6.
Meanwhile in Group A, Mtarfa march on thanks to a 3-0 win over Xghajra Tornados at the Sirens Stadium courtesy of Alejandro Brincat on the 42nd, Josuel Spiteri on the hour and Dasser Sammut on the 62nd.
