BOV Challenge League: Zabbar take sole leadership

Zabbar St. Patrick moved three points clear in the BOV Challenge League Top 6 as goals by David Oliveira Souza on the 34th and Leo Agius eight minutes from time handed them a 2-0 win over Zurrieq at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.

Senglea Athletic, on the other hand, moved third as they defeated Pieta’ Hotspurs 1-0 thanks to a goal by Alilu Issaka on the 31st.

Zabbar lead the way with 41 points, followed by Melita on 38, Senglea 34, Pieta’ 32, Marsa 30 and Zurrieq 28.

In the Play-Out, Luqa St. Andrew’s earned three precious points as a goal by Camilo Andres Sanchez Gonzales on the 75th handed them a narrow win over Fgura United at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

In another match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Zebbug Rangers and St. Andrews shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, goals by Duvan Mosquera Torres for Zebbug on the 27th and Nathan Sultana on the 71st for St. Andrews.

Fgura lead the way with 29 points, followed by Swieqi, Lija and Luqa 25, Tarxien 21, Zejtun 19, St. Andrews and Zebbug 14, Attard 8 and Msida 6.
