BOV Challenge League: Zabbar St. Patrick, Melita secure promotion to Premier League

Zabbar St. Patrick and Melita will be playing in the Premier League next season after Zabbar defeated Marsa 2-0 in a match from the BOV Challenge League Top 6 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.

Ezequiel Eduardo Ruiz converted a penalty on the 22nd and Leo Agius doubled the score on the 41st.

Zabbar and Melita lead the way with 47 points, followed by Senglea 34, Marsa 33, Pieta’ 32 and Zurrieq 31.

In the Play-Out, a brace by Bledi Alla handed Attard a 2-0 win over Swieqi United at the Centenary Stadium. Alla opened the score on the 5th and sealed the issue with a penalty on the 95th.

Zebbug Rangers defeated Msida St. Joseph 6-0 at the Centenary Stadium. Randall Vella put Zebbug ahead on the 4th and three minutes later, Johann Bezzina doubled the score. Duvan Mosquera Torres made it 3-0 on the 31st. Kurt Bondin increased the lead on the 53rd and Johann Bezzina made it 5-0 on the 67th with Andrey Attard adding another on the 73rd.

Zejtun Corinthians and Luqa St. Andrew’s shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, goals by Jairo Santos de Oliveira Filho for Zejtun on the 19th and Emmanuel Bio for Luqa on the 29th.

Fgura lead the way with 31 points, followed by Lija on 29, Swieqi on 28, Tarxien 27, Luqa and Zejtun 26, St. Andrews 18, Zebbug 17, Attard 14 and Msida 6. Msida St. Joseph have already been relegated to the Amateur League.
