Sliema Wanderers and Hibernians shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the National Stadium on Sunday.
A result which puts the Wanderers eight points clear of fourth-placed Marsaxlokk with the Paolites fifth, one point behind the Southseasiders, two ahead of Naxxar and three ahead of Birkirkara.
Sliema could have taken the lead with a Dennis Kouao effort mid-way through the first half but towards the end of the first half, two attempts by Giannis Bastianos were neutralised by Rashed Al-Tumi.
Early in the second half, Lydon Micallef almost put the Wanderers ahead but his goal-bound effort was cleared off the goal line by Higor Gabriel.
