Zebbug Rangers claimed three important points in the battle against relegation from the BOV Challenge League Play-Out as they defeated Luqa St. Andrew’s 4-0 at the Centenary Stadium.
Johann Bezzina scored twice on the 13th and 53rd, Duvan Mosquera Torres increased the lead on the 70th and Shalon Diacono added another on the 88th.
Tarxien Rainbows moved a step closer to securing their status thanks to a 3-1 win over Msida St. Joseph at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Rundell Renold Winchester put Tarxien ahead on the 9th and Jean Carlos Cloth Goncalves doubled the score on the 32nd. Victor Ifenayi Mbata pulled one back on the 45th but Ryan Cutajar made it 3-1 two minutes in added time.
Fgura United rescued a point in a 1-1 draw with Zejtun Corinthians at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Jairo Santos de Oliveira Filho put Zejtun ahead on the 45th but Dylan Caruana equalised on the 88th.
In the Play-Out, Fgura lead the way with 35 points, followed by Swieqi on 34, Lija 32, Tarxien 30, Zejtun 27, Luqa 26, St. Andrews 24, Zebbug 23, Attard 14 and Msida 6.
Meanwhile in the Top 6, a goal by Paul Lapira on the 11th and a brace by Donys Aldair Quintero Maldonado on the 50th and 84th handed Marsa a 3-0 win over Pieta’ Hotspurs.
Melita lead the way with 53 points, followed by Zabbar on 47, Marsa 39, Pieta’ 35, Senglea and Zurrieq 34.
