After losing 1-3 in a first match on Tuesday, Malta lost 1-4 in the second friendly match between Malta and Montenegro at the Centenary Stadium on Thursday.
Malta coach Facundo Styk made two changes in his starting line-up from the first game, handing goalkeeper Liam Frendo and Thomas Melillo a start.

The visitors forged ahead on the 23rd courtesy of Jagos Roganovic. Four minutes in the second half, Bojan Damjanovic doubled the score and Djordje Vuckevic made it 3-0 on the 64th. Filip Perovic extended the lead on the 75th but Benjamin Cassar scored a consolation goal for Malta seven minutes from time.
