Mosta return to winning ways as they turn defeat into victory

After earning just one point from the previous four matches, Mosta returned to winning ways as they came from behind to beat Hibernians 3-1 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.

The Blues leapfrogged Santa Lucia and are now fifth from bottom on 27 points, one ahead of Santa Lucia. Hibernians, on the other hand, continue to share fifth place with Birkirkara, six points behind fourth-placed Marsaxlokk.

Hibernians managed to take the lead on the 7th minute when they were awarded a penalty after goalkeeper David Udoh Akpan floored Rodney Antwi inside the area and from the penalty spot, Alex Bruno de Souza Silva converted.

Mosta levelled matters eight minutes from the end of the first half when Chidera Henry Nwoga sent the ball inside the area, Zachary Brincat headed the ball down and Gustavo Chara Valois controlled the ball before hitting low past Hugo Sacco.

The Blues made it 2-1 on the 73rd minute when Precious Linus Tenebe stole the ball off Ferdinando Apap and served substitute Tegwi Thomas Shedrack who beat the Hibs goalkeeper with a powerful shot from outside the area.

Three minutes from time, Mosta scored the third goal thanks to Jean Paul Farrugia who received a through pass by Tenebe and rounded a defender before beating Sacco with a shot from the edge of the area.
