The twelve member clubs of the Malta Premier League will be receiving €2,356,000 in UEFA Solidarity Funds for the 2024/25 season.
This amounts to €196,333 per club – the highest amount ever received by Maltese clubs. UEFA has also introduced new rules on how to administer this money, also at the request of several leagues, including the Malta Premier League.
Premier League clubs agreed to give the sum of €293,400 (€24,450 from each Premier club) to be divided equally between the Challenge League clubs during this season as Solidarity. This amounts to 12.5% of the sum that the Malta Premier clubs will receive, which is almost the maximum allowed to be distributed by UEFA.
The Malta Premier League said that by doing so, it was showing that it truly believes in solidarity and that it wants to help the development of Maltese football.
“The success of the Malta Premier will benefit everyone,” said the MPL.
