Gzira United and Naxxar Lions shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in a match from the 360 Sports Malta Premier Opening Round Bottom 6 at the National Stadium on Saturday.
Gzira are now three points ahead of Marsaxlokk while Naxxar move one point behind Melita and two ahead of Balzan but Marsaxlokk, Melita and Balzan all have a game in hand.
Following a goalless first half, Gzira took the lead six minutes in the second half when Lecao was brought down inside the area by Ryan Gilmour Cassar and from the penalty spot, Gabriel Bohrer Mentz converted.
However, on 62 minutes, Naxxar equalised thanks to a brilliant effort by Edson Farias from outside the area when served by Takuma Yamaguchi on the right.
