Victoria Hotspurs maintained their perfect record in the IZIBET Amateur League 2 as they beat Ghaxaq 5-0 at the Sirens Stadium on Sunday.
Ferdinando Apap put the Hotspurs ahead on the 20th and seven minutes later, Matthias Said doubled the score. Dylan Mercieca made it 3-0 on the 43rd and in the second half, goals by Shaun Attard on the 71st and Ferdinando Apap on the 92nd extended the lead further.
At the Luxol Stadium, St. George’s defeated Mdina Knights 2-1. Kenneth Aquilina put the Saints ahead on th e13th and although Marc Farrugia equalised on the 32nd, Aquilina notched the winner six minutes from time.
Mqabba registered a comfortable 4-0 win over Siggiewi at the Luxol Stadium. Saturday Nanapere put Mqabba ahead on the 15th. An own goal enabled them to double the score five minutes from the end of the first half and one minute later, Andres Tenorio Viveros made it 3-0. Saturday Nanapere added another on the hour.
Dingli Swallows defeated Kalkara United 2-1 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Nicholas Zammit put Dingli ahead on the 32nd and nine minutes later, he doubled the score. Aaron Hili pulled one back for Kalkara on the 59th.
Ta’ Xbiex claimed their first three points as they came from behind to beat Sta. Venera Lightnings 2-1 at the Sirens Stadium. Jorge Carreno put the Lightnings ahead on the 37th but Clayton Mifsud converted a penalty on the 64th to level matters and Gian Carlo Sammut notched the winner five minutes later.
