Holders Hamrun Spartans retained the BOV Super Cup after they scored twice in the second half to defeat FA Trophy winners Sliema Wanderers 2-0 in the final at the National Stadium on Friday.
This was the seventh success for the Spartans in this competition.
Following a first half, during which both sides had a number of goal-scoring opportunities, the Spartans showed greater determination in the second.
Hamrun managed to take the lead on 63 mimutes. Luke Montebello rounded two defenders in midfield before releasing Raphael Lopes and the latter beat Jean Borg on the run before beating goalkeper Agu Kelvin Emeka.
To make matters worse for Sliema, Murilo Freire was sent off on 79 minutes after receiving a second yellow card for a reckless tackle on Lopes.
Two minutes later, Hamrun increased the lead when off a pass by Talison from the right, Raphael Lopes hit low with Emeka saving the ball partially and Luke Montebello hit home from close range.
