Marsaxlokk rescued a point in a 2-2 draw with Zabbar St. Patrick at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in one of the matches which brought to an end the 360Sports Malta Premier Opening Round Bottom 6 on Sunday.
Zabbar were lying one point ahead of Naxxar and four ahead of Balzan and all they needed to avoid the bottom two places was to match the result obtained by Naxxar. But since the Lions lost to Balzan, getting a positive result from this clash was a bonus.
Alex Tanque put Marsaxlokk ahead just before half-time but Brian Gambarte levelled matters for Zabbar on 58 minutes. Strahinja Jovancic made it 2-1 for Zabbar but two minutes in added time, Yuri Messias converted a penalty for Marsaxlokk to restore equilibrium.
