Melita beat Gzira to avoid bottom two places

With a goal in each half, Melita defeated Gzira United 2-0 at the Centenary Stadium in one of the matches which brought to an end the 360Sports Malta Premier Opening Round Bottom 6 on Sunday.

Clive Mizzi’s side therefore made sure of placing third in the Bottom 6 and avoid the bottom two places.

Melita took the lead on 31 minutes when Matthew Debattista released Alan Borg Olivier on the left and the latter advanced into the area before beating goalkeeper Justin Haber with a diagonal shot.

Andre doubled the score on 78 minutes when he intercepted a back pass by Enrico Pepe and exchanged the ball with Matthew Debattista before placing it at the back of the net from close range.
