San Gwann moved top in the IZIBET Amateur League 1 table thanks to a 3-1 win over Qrendi at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.
Leo Salgado put Qrendi ahead on 14 minutes but Ricardo Nahuel Velasquez turned the score in San Gwann’s favour with a goal on 16 minutes and another on 42 minutes. Mattias Zarb sealed the issue with a third goal on 76 minutes.
A brace by Adrian Carabott on 4 and 42 minutes paved the way for a 4-0 win for Zejtun Corinthians over Rabat Ajax. Stefi Cale and Fabien Lufi increased the lead on 52 and 67 minutes.
San Gwann lead the way with 32 points, followed by Birzebbuga and Vittoriosa on 31, Luqa 27, Xghajra and Attard 24, Qrendi and Qormi 21, Zejtun 15, Kirkop 13, Mellieha 12, Gharghur and Pembroke 7, Marsaskala and Rabat 6 and Msida 3.
