Victoria Hotspurs were declared champions in the IZIBET Amateur League 2 after defeating St. George’s 2-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.
Kurt Borg put the Hotspurs ahead on 11 minutes and Rondinely doubled the score on 24 minutes.
Andres Tenorio scored twice as Mqabba defeated Mdina Knights 2-1 at the Sirens Stadium. Tenorio put Mqabba ahead on 4 minutes and although Gianluca Theuma equalised ln 22 minutes, Tenorio notched the winner six minutes from time.
Kalkara United defeated Ta’ Xbiex 3-1 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Miguel Perez put Kalkara ahead on 7 minutes and Timothy Thomas doubled the score on 26 minutes. Clayton Mifsud reduced the gap for Ta’ Xbiex on 65 minutes but Thomas made it 3-1 on 89 minutes.
Dingli Swallows rescued a point in a 2-2 draw with Siggiewi at the Sirens Stadium. Tyrone Grech put Siggiewi ahead on 26 minutes and Owen York Gbekia equalised on 45 minutes. Isaac Kwesi Ansanyi converted a penalty for Siggiewi on 57 minutes but Yoro Gbekia levelled matters nine minutes from time.
In another match at the Charles Abela Stadium, Ghaxaq beat Sta. Venera Lightnings 4-0 thanks to goals by Clive Fenech on 28 minutes, Aaron Agius on 41 minutes, Sven Tonna on 50 minutes and Agius once again on 68 minutes.
