Malta registered a third win in Group C2 of the UEFA Women’s Nations League as they defeated Georgia 2-1 at the Centenary Stadium on Tuesday.
A win which puts Malta on top of the group after Andorra came from behind to beat Cyprus 2-1 in another match on Tuesday.
Following the 3-2 win in Tbilisi, coach Manuela Tesse was forced to make one change as Charlene Zammit replaced the suspended Emma Lipman.

Malta managed to take the lead on 39 minutes when off an assist by Nicole Sciberras, Rachel Cuschieri managed to beat the Georgian goalkeeper with a powerful drive from outside the area.
On the hour, Malta doubled the score thanks to a Haley Bugeja penalty after the Inter forward was brought down by Mtskerashvili.
In the final stages, Georgia pushed hard to reduce the gap and after hitting the woodwork through Tatiana Matveeva, Mariam Kalandadze pulled one back, beating goalkeeper Janice Xuereb when served by Mtskerashvili.
