Francesco Macri names squad ahead of UEFA Under-17 mini-tournament

Malta Under-17 Coach Francesco Macri has announced a 20-player squad for the upcoming 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship Qualifiers, set to commence this week.

The qualifiers will see Malta face off against Bulgaria, Luxembourg and the Faroe Islands at the Centenary Stadium in the space of a few days.

The opening game will be against Bulgaria on Thursday 10th April, with kick-off at 11:00hrs. Malta’s following match will be on Sunday 13th April, also at 11:00hrs, as the young Maltese side takes on Luxembourg. Malta’s final match of the group will be on Wednesday 16th April against the Faroe Islands.

The team is coming off the back of a fruitful trip to Italy in February, where they faced off against Serie B sides UC Sampdoria and Spezia Calcio, delivering very positive football performances and more experience playing abroad.

Tickets for the upcoming matches are available from tickets.mfa.com.mt, and the matches will also be livestreamed on the Malta FA YouTube channel.
