Sliema Wanderers and Hamrun Spartans make it to Final Four as Floriana are held by Birkirkara

Sliema Wanderers and Hamrun Spartans joined Floriana and Birkirkara in the Final Four of the 360Sports Malta Premier as they both registered wins on Wednesday to secure their spot. 

Thanks to a better record in the direct encounters, Sliema end their Closing Round commitments first and Hamrun second.

With a win, the Greens would have secured the title but Birkirkara had other thoughts, holding them in a 1-1 draw at the National Stadium.

Birkirkara had a perfect start, taking the lead after just three minutes. Donovan Makoma effort partially saved by Mafoumbi and Maxuell Maia placed the ball at the back of the net

Floriana equalised on 39 minutes when off an assist by Jake Grech, Dunstan Vella hit the ball home past goalkeeper Giacomo Volpe.

With this result, Floriana ended their Closing Round commitments in third place, one point behind Sliema and Hamrun. 

At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, Hamrun Spartans defeated Marsaxlokk 1-0.

A result which meant that Marsaxlokk end their commitments in fourth place, two points behind Sliema and Hamrun and one behind Floriana.

The Spartans scored the all-important goal on 32 minutes when Joseph Mbong sent Raphael Lopes through and the latter slotted the ball past goalkeeper Matthew Calleja Cremona. 

At the Centenary Stadium, Sliema Wanderers found no difficulty in beating Mosta 5-1. 

Neil Frendo put the Wanderers ahead on 27 minutes and eight minutes later, Wescley doubled the score.

Kyrian Nwoko made it 3-0 on 59 minutes and nine minutes later, Samba Kone added another. Jamie Scerri pulled one back on 85 minutes.
