Floriana FC secured the services of Brazilian twenty five year old central defender Iago Pereira Mendonça.

Iago Mendonça played for Goias, Aparecidense and CRB in Brazil before a spell with Club Blooming in Bolivia. He returned to Brazil to play for Vila Nova, also having a spell with Patrocinense. Last year, he moved to FC Alversa in Portugal.

The Greens, who had earlier appointed Daniel Portela as their new coach, have opted not to retain goalkeeper Christoffer Mafoumbi, Oualid El Hasni, Jork Becerra, Alexandros Kouros, Gabriel Sotomayor and Elvis Mashike.
