Amendments regarding the composition of the National Amateur League for season 2025/26 and from season 2026/27 onwards as were approved by the Executive Board during a meeting on May 26th.
Thanks to this change in format there will no longer be play-offs and play-outs.
For Season 2025/26 the National Amateur League will be played as follows:
National Amateur League 1
The League shall be composed of fourteen (14) teams and shall be played on a double round-robin basis. At the end of the league:
– The Club placed in the first (1st) position in the official Classification Table shall be declared the Champion of the National Amateur League 1 and shall be promoted to the Challenge League.
– The Club classified second (2nd) in the official Classification Table shall be declared the Runner-Up of the National Amateur League 1 and shall be promoted to the Challenge League.
– The Clubs placed between the eleventh (11th) and fourteenth (14th) place in the official Classification Table shall be relegated to the National Amateur League 2.
National Amateur League 2
The League shall be composed of the remaining teams and shall be played on a double round-robin basis. At the end of the league:
– The Club placed in the first (1st) position in the official Classification Table shall be declared the Champion of the National Amateur League 2 and shall be promoted to the National Amateur League 1.
– The Club classified second (2nd) in the official Classification Table shall be declared the Runner-Up of the National Amateur League 2 and shall be promoted to the National Amateur League 1.
– The clubs placed in the last two positions in the official classification table shall drop out of the National League. Such Clubs may apply for re-instatement.
Meanwhile, as from Season 2026/27 onwards the National Amateur League will be played as follows:
National Amateur League 1
The League shall be composed of twelve (12) teams and shall be played on a double round-robin basis. At the end of the league:
– The Club placed in the first (1st) position in the official Classification Table shall be declared the Champion of the National Amateur League 1 and shall be promoted to the Challenge League.
– The Club classified second (2nd) in the official Classification Table shall be declared the Runner-Up of the National Amateur League 1 and shall be promoted to the Challenge League.
– The Clubs placed in the last two positions in the official Classification Table shall be relegated to the National Amateur League 2.
National Amateur League 2
The League shall be composed of the remaining teams and shall be played on a double round-robin basis. At the end of the league:
– The Club placed in the first (1st) position in the official Classification Table shall be declared the Champion of the National Amateur League 2 and shall be promoted to the National Amateur League 1.
– The Club classified second (2nd) in the official Classification Table shall be declared the Runner-Up of the National Amateur League 2 and shall be promoted to the National Amateur League 1.
– The clubs placed in the last two positions in the official classification table shall drop out of the National League. Such Clubs may apply for re instatement.
The National Amateur Super Cup Competition has been scrapped.
