The Malta FA hosted the BNF Awards Night for the 2025/26 season at the National Football Centre in Ta’ Qali on Wednesday, recognising the achievements of teams and individual players following another highly competitive campaign.
The event brought together representatives of participating clubs, officials from competition sponsors BNF Bank plc, Malta FA Senior Vice President Dr Matthew Paris, Vice Presidents Adrian Casha and Ing. Trustin Farrugia Cann, as well as Malta FA General Secretary Dr Maria Azzopardi. Coaches from the Malta FA Technical Centre were also in attendance.

The awards presented during the evening included participation certificates for teams competing in the BNF Under-14 Leagues, Top Scorer awards for the BNF Under-15 and Under-17 Leagues and BNF Women’s Under-16 League, Fair Play awards, honours for league champions, and recognition for promoted teams.
Introducing the event, Dr Paris highlighted the developmental importance of these competitions.
“Tonight we celebrate the winners and outstanding performers of the season across both boys’ and girls’ football. While success and honours are important, these competitions are primarily focused on development. The greatest priority should not be on today’s result, but the long-term development of players for the future,” he remarked.
The evening celebrated a season marked by strong competition across all categories, with several titles decided in the closing stages. Beyond the excitement on the pitch, these competitions continue to play a vital role in developing the next generation of Maltese football talent.
The Malta FA extends its sincere appreciation to BNF Bank plc for its continued support and sponsorship of these competitions.
