Joseph Mbong (Hamrun Spartans FC) and Yulya Carella (Mgarr United) won the Footballer of the Year Awards in the 2026 Malta FA Awards which was held at the Doubletree by Hilton Malta on Tuesday.
Federico Varela (Floriana) was voted Foreign Player of the Year while Jake Azzopardi (Valletta FC) claimed the BOV Young Player of the Year.
Floriana coach Daniel Portela won the Best Coach award.
Paul Lapira (Birzebbuga St Peter’s FC) won the BOV Challenge League Best Player award, Precious Uchechukwu Nwankwo (Attard FC) was voted BOV Amateur League 1 Best Player while Ryan Dalli (Kalkara United) won the BOV Amateur League 2 Best Player award.
Thomas Melillo (Valletta FC) was voted BOV Youth League Best Player
while Nyorah Celeste (Hibernians FC) won the Assikura Youth League Best Player.
Brenner of Xewkija Tigers won the Best Goal of the Year Award for his goal against Melita in the FA Trophy.
Former Malta international goalkeeper Freddie Mizzi was inducted into the Hall of Fame while Sava Radic was presented with the President’s Award.
Benjamin Hili (Swieqi United) won The Gozitan Achievement Award.
