Malta FA and Youth FA organise Football Fun Festival at National Stadium

Children representing 21 local football nurseries enjoyed the unique opportunity to play at the National Stadium on Sunday during the Football Fun Festival organised by the Malta FA and the Youth FA.

The festival featured a series of 20-minute matches, giving young players the chance to have fun, enjoy a memorable experience and showcase their talent on the same pitch that has hosted Malta National Team fixtures and several high-profile domestic matches.

Families gathered at the National Stadium throughout the morning to cheer on the young players and contribute to the positive atmosphere surrounding the event.

Throughout the event, a water buggy provided by the Water Services Corporation (WSC) helped keep the children hydrated and full of energy to keep on showcasing their skills despite the May sun.

At the end of the festival, participating nurseries were presented with commemorative tokens by Malta FA Senior Vice President Dr Matthew Paris and Youth FA General Secretary Stephanie Rocco.

“This is the second edition of what will become a marquee event for the Malta FA. Having children play on the green grass of Ta’ Qali is more than an experience, it is a strategic investment in grassroots football that we are committed to nurturing and maximising,” Dr Paris remarked.

On her part, Ms Rocco stated that the National Stadium came alive through the highly successful festival, filled with energy, smiles, and a genuine love for the game. “Events like these are at the heart of our mission, providing a fun and inclusive environment where young players can develop, enjoy football, and create lasting memories,” she added.

The event formed part of the Malta FA and Youth FA’s continued commitment towards promoting grassroots football and encouraging participation among young players.

The Malta FA and the Youth FA would like to thank the WSC and the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness for their support in organising the event.
